ZEOLITE
[fraction 0.2-0,5 mm] feed additive
Zeolite is potassium aluminosilicate, otherwise known as clinoptilolite.
Zeolite is a known absorbent of mycotoxins, heavy metals and viruses, it fights microorganisms.
Zeolite on the Polish market was introduced as a dietary supplement that can be used for the production of feed.
Zeolite can be used for the production of concentrated feed, mineral additives and premixes.
APPLICATION:
Zeolite used as an ingredient in the production of fodder is an ideal solution for improving the health of farm animals and birds.
Under unfavorable conditions (excessive humidity, temperature fluctuations) they can create an environment where molds grow on
cultivated plants as pathogenic fungi (Fusarium) or in stored fodder and mixtures as saprophytes (Aspergillus, Penicillium).
They produce toxic metabolites called mycotoxins, causing mycotoxicosis in animals.
Partial neutralization of the negative effects of mycotoxins in such feeds can be done with the help of detoxicants.
It is in these conditions that zeolite (clinoptilolite) finds its place.
The action of zeolite takes place mainly in the gastrointestinal tract and consists in the separation of the mycotoxin from the feed particle and its absorption and subsequent excretion in the faeces. Zeolite also shows ammonia binding properties in the small intestine.
Also adding zeolite gives its recipients financial benefits - adding about 4% zeolite to the feed mix reduces the costs associated with the purchase of grain by 15% because we can replace part of the grain with zeolite and obtain the following benefits:
Broiler chickens increase in weight by 5-10%, mortality decreases by 1-2%
Laying hens more eggs by 3-5%
Cattle reduce mortality among calves by 10%, average weight gain per year is reduced by 5-12%, and milk yield is increased by 5-8%.
Pigs weight gain 6-10%, more pigs are born 5%.
It should be emphasized that in the rooms where animals receiving 3-4% of zeolite in the feed were reared, a lower concentration of 12% to 16% was observed.
ammonia, which also had a beneficial effect on the better health of these animals. It was also found that with the increase of zeolite content in the mixture, the concentration of ammonia in the nursery buildings decreased.
The most important properties of zeolite:
It influences higher fattening and fattening efficiency and better meat quality.
It causes the stimulation of non-specific immunity.
It supports detoxification processes, absorbs harmful metabolites, and as an active adsorbing ion exchanger, it helps to remove harmful products from the body on the basis of ion exchange.
It absorbs ammonia, ammonium ions and other nitrogen-containing compounds, which reduces their levels in urine and blood, and has an anti-odor effect.
As a natural product, it is completely safe, it is excreted from the body unchanged,
It does not react with feed components.
Zeolite works well as a mulch. Due to its channel structure and large specific surface, this product has a high affinity for binding gases that are the source of unpleasant odors. The gases are permanently bound and the end product is environmentally friendly. The use of zeolite makes the cumbersome processes almost odorless and the factory atmosphere free of odors.
Unpleasant odors from livestock housing and manure housing can be neutralized by using natural zeolites.
Natural zeolite eliminates unpleasant odors thanks to increased adsorption and the opportunity to exchange ions. In addition, the zeolite adsorbs water and is used as a drying agent.
PZH approvals, distinctions and awards at fairs in Poland.
