Black cumin
also called black cumin is an inconspicuous plant with seeds of enormous power. The ancients thought that black seed and its precious oil "heals everything except death."
Use whole or ground seeds, usually fried or roasted before use. They can be easily crushed in a mortar.
Black cumin is sometimes used as a substitute for pepper. In Indian cuisine it is commonly used as an addition to mild stewed lamb dishes, it also goes well with vegetables and dishes.
Healing properties:
Black cumin is a spice especially rich in iron. It has warming properties, so it is also used in the winter.
Detoxifies the digestive system, balances the immune system. Contributes to the absorption of nutrients, improves digestion and stimulates the immune system. Essential oil has a beneficial effect in the fight against respiratory problems (asthma, bronchitis), thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
It has a high content of antioxidants, which remain in whole seeds longer, shorter in black cumin. Black cumin contributes to the body's natural detoxification, as do cinnamon, ginger, turmeric and dill.
The accumulation of toxins can lead to many diseases and impaired organ function. Initially, symptoms may include diarrhea and constipation, gas and local enteritis. In addition, these are symptoms of constant fatigue, headaches, and as a consequence chronic arthritis, rheumatism, skin diseases and allergies may occur. In such cases, black seed oil can be used as an adjunctive and cleansing treatment.
Black cumin is universally applicable. Currently, it is used for:
